The Lorne Street Apartment Development is located on two lots at 634-640 Lorne Street in Kamloops. The project is proposing to provide 88 living units in a 6-storey building featuring ground floor commercial space and a hidden rear parking lot with an entry off Station Plaza Road. The proposal seeks to introduce a simple building form that references its neighbours and the adjacent infrastructure of the railyard through a mix of colour, materiality and spatial form. The goal of the design is to develop a cohesive language for Lorne St. intended to inspire future development within Kamloops. This is done through the creation of this high density building in proximity to the downtown area, while also ensuring that the human scale has been respected in both the building and the street scape.
